Domain Name Registration

A domain name (or web address) is your unique internet address and specifies the location of your website on the internet. When you register your domain name you will usually also get a matching email address. For example:

Domain name:
www.yourname.co.uk

Email Address:
you@yourname.co.uk

Domain names must be between 3 and 30 characters long (excluding the extension), and can be made up from: a - z, 0 - 9 and the hyphen (-) character. Domain names are not case sensitive and they must begin with a letter.

Once you have registered your domain name it can then be made to point to your website where you can promote yourself and/or your business.

By registering a .uk domain name, you enter into a contract of registration with Nominet UK on the terms and conditions (available here). This is a separate contract to any arrangement you may have with any third party for the provision of internet services. Please read before proceeding with your order.
